Four Crime Authors. Four Unique Voices. One Thriving Genre.

Crime and thriller fiction continues to dominate bestseller lists, reader charts and Kindle rankings, and this year at Ireland’s Publishing Show we are delighted to have an incredible number of crime writers attending.
Among them are four authors whose names have consistently popped up in our conversations, our feeds and our reading lists over the past year. Wes Markin, Danny Hurst, GR Jordan and TG Reid are not the only successful authors in attendance, nor are they the only crime writers joining us. However, these four are names that have continually impressed us through their work ethic, visibility and sustained success in the genre.
They are not here as speakers. They are your peers. Inspiring members of this wonderful writing community that we are all part of. Each of them is carving their own distinct path in crime fiction, doing so with impressive consistency and strong reader loyalty.
Wes Markin is known for gripping, character-driven police procedurals that hook readers from page one. His sharp plotting and steady release strategy have built him a dedicated audience. He represents the power of long-term series building, creating worlds that readers want to return to again and again.
Danny Hurst brings a psychological edge to the genre, crafting high-stakes thrillers that explore tension, morality and unexpected twists. We loved seeing Danny’s recent social post where he brought his 9 to 5 tie with him to Lanzarote on holiday. It was a subtle but powerful nod to the journey so many authors take from traditional employment to writing full-time. It is those small, human moments that remind us that success is built step by step.
GR Jordan continues to build a compelling catalogue of crime fiction rooted in atmosphere and authenticity. With strong reader engagement and carefully developed series arcs, GR exemplifies the steady climb that defines sustainable indie careers.
TG Reid, known for immersive and page-turning crime narratives, adds yet another dimension to this quartet. With a clear understanding of genre expectations and reader satisfaction, TG demonstrates how mastering craft and understanding your audience can elevate a series to new heights.
Together, these four authors highlight something important about the crime genre. Crime is not just one lane. It is a spectrum of tone, pacing, voice and approach.
You never know who you are sitting beside at a conference. Every person attending over these few days brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. They have either walked the path before you or are on the path you have already taken.
And while they are here this year as attendees, with the calibre of talent in this group, we may just have to see them on stage in the future.
